Latest weather forecast
The coming week’s weather prediction indicates a consistent pattern of cold temperatures, with Tuesday seeing a low of 9 degrees Celsius, and similar or slightly higher temperatures expected throughout the week. This includes 11 degrees Celsius on both Wednesday and Thursday, 13 degrees Celsius on Friday, 12 degrees Celsius on Saturday, and 14 degrees Celsius on Sunday and Monday.
Impact on Flight Schedules
The onset of dense fog early Tuesday morning has led to disruptions in flight operations. Several flights have been delayed due to reduced visibility, affecting travelers and causing significant scheduling challenges for airlines.
The Meteorological Department had previously issued warnings regarding the dense fog conditions in Delhi, coupled with a yellow alert for heightened caution. Despite forecasts of mainly clear skies, the minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to stay around 7 and 18 degrees Celsius, respectively.
On Monday, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 17.6 degrees Celsius, which is three notches below the season’s average. The minimum temperature rose slightly compared to the previous day, settling at 6.1 degrees Celsius, compared to 4.8 degrees Celsius.
Weather Conditions in Other States
The cold wave is not limited to Delhi but is also affecting other north Indian states. Rajasthan, for instance, continues to experience chilly weather, with dense fog reported in parts. The town of Fatehpur in the Sikar district recorded a low of 1.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Alwar at 2.8 degrees Celsius. The weather office has indicated that these conditions are likely to persist for the next 24 hours.
Similarly, Haryana and Punjab are also facing intensified cold weather conditions. Most places in these states reported moderate to dense fog in the morning.
