The minimum temperature in Delhi plummeted to 5.3 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season’s average.
This chilling episode brings back memories of December 15 last year when the national capital recorded its lowest minimum temperature of the season at 4.9 degrees, four notches below the season’s average.

Delhi also recorded a maximum temperature of 17.5 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season’s average, contributing to the overall wintry ambiance.
Humidity levels varied between 84% and 100%, adding to the cold discomfort.

IMD’s Forecast:

IMD officials predict that the cold day to severe cold day conditions will persist in some parts of Delhi on Tuesday, with a subsequent abatement in the following days.
Tuesday’s forecast includes a generally cloudy sky with a possibility of light rain or drizzle. Maximum and minimum temperatures are anticipated to settle around 15 degrees Celsius and 7 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Transportation and Air Quality Impact:

Due to the weather conditions, 20 Delhi-bound trains experienced delays, affecting the city’s transportation network.
The city’s 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 345, categorizing it as ‘very poor,’ underscoring the importance of monitoring air quality during extreme weather conditions.

Weather Outlook for the Day:

The minimum temperature for the current day is expected to hover around 10 degrees Celsius, with the maximum temperature potentially reaching 21 degrees Celsius.
Throughout the day, the mercury level is anticipated to remain at around 11 degrees Celsius, accompanied by a wind speed of approximately 2.57. The wind will move around 316 degrees with a gust speed of 4.9.
The sunrise is forecasted at 07:15 AM, and the sunset at 05:40 PM on Tuesday.

Seven-Day Weather Prediction:

The seven-day weather forecast indicates a gradual increase in temperature, with Delhi expecting to reach 11 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, maintaining that level through Wednesday and Thursday.
The mercury is projected to rise to 12 degrees Celsius on Friday, followed by a slight increase to 13 degrees Celsius on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
