Preesha Chakraborty, a nine-year-old Indian-American student, has been honored by the prestigious Johns Hopkins Centre for Talented Youth (JH-CTY) as one of the world’s brightest young minds. This recognition follows her exceptional performance in above-grade-level tests, distinguishing her among over 16,000 students from more than 90 countries.

Preesha’s Academic Journey and Achievements
Attending Warm Spring Elementary School in Fremont, California, Preesha undertook the JH-CTY test in the summer of 2023 as a third grader. Her remarkable performance in the SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test), ACT (American College Testing), and School and College Ability Test catapulted her into the limelight, earning her a spot on the esteemed list.

Demonstrating extraordinary skills, Preesha scored in the 99th percentile for advanced fifth-grade students in both the verbal and quantitative sections of the test. This achievement not only brought her Grand Honors but also made her eligible for more than 250 CTY’s Online and On-Campus Programmes, catering to advanced students in various disciplines such as mathematics, computer programming, chemistry, physics, reading, and writing.
Preesha’s Intellectual Endeavors and Interests
Remarkably, Preesha is also a lifetime member of the Mensa Foundation, a globally renowned high-IQ society. She earned this membership at the age of six by scoring in the 99th percentile in the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT). Apart from her academic pursuits, Preesha enjoys traveling, hiking, and practicing mixed martial arts.
