The early hours of Wednesday witnessed some parts of Delhi and its neighboring areas in the National Capital Region (NCR) receiving light rainfall, amidst ongoing cold wave conditions. This weather pattern has been consistent in Delhi and several other parts of North India. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that thin to thick fog blanketed various regions of North India, with no indication of the cold wave conditions relenting during late night and early morning hours.

The IMD has forecasted that dense to very dense fog conditions are expected to persist in several parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh until January 27 (Saturday). Additionally, similar fog conditions are predicted for isolated areas in Delhi until the same date. The weather office emphasized the likelihood of dense to very dense fog conditions during night and morning hours in isolated regions of Bihar until January 25, with dense fog persisting in isolated pockets of the state for the following three days.

Moreover, dense fog is anticipated in the morning hours in isolated pockets of Madhya Pradesh until January 26, as well as in regions of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Tripura until January 25.

Fog Advisory for Delhi and Bihar

The Met Department has also indicated that cold-day to severe cold-day conditions are likely to continue in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh on January 24th, with some areas experiencing these conditions on January 25th. Cold day conditions are also expected in isolated pockets of these states until January 27. Similar weather patterns are predicted for isolated areas in West Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and East Rajasthan on January 24.

Bihar and Madhya Pradesh are not exempt from the cold, with isolated pockets in Bihar experiencing cold day conditions from January 24 to 27, and similar conditions in isolated areas in Madhya Pradesh on January 24.

Weather Forecast for Delhi

The capital city, Delhi, is forecasted to experience a minimum temperature of around 10 degrees Celsius today, with a maximum temperature reaching up to 21 degrees Celsius. Throughout the day, the mercury level is expected to be around 12 degrees Celsius. The wind speed is predicted to be around 1.37, blowing from the 210-degree direction, with gust speeds of approximately 1.73. The sunrise and sunset times for Wednesday are 07:13 AM and 05:52 PM, respectively. According to the seven-day weather prediction, temperatures in Delhi are expected to be around 12 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and Thursday, gradually rising to 15 degrees Celsius by the following Tuesday.
